Living music legend Stevie Wonder has officially joined the protest against Donald Trump when he took a knee during his headlining set at Global Citizen Festival in New York. Wonder was joined on stage by his son Kwame Morris, who knelt close beside him.

"Tonight I'm taking a knee for America, but not just one knee... I'm taking both knees," he said. "Both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, our leaders of the world, and I quote 'Amen.' I wanted to say that prayer before I serve you my musical meal."

The crowd reacted with a loud roar of applause. (Not a single boo could be heard.) This move follows suit with the recent wave of backlash against Trump after he stated that NFL players should be fired for kneeling during the national anthem. Watch Wonder's act of solidarity in the video, above.
