Chrissy Teigen and John Legend got stranded at LAX during a transpacific deep state airplane fiasco

The couple’s plane turned around four hours into the flight because a passenger had mysteriously boarded with the wrong ticket.

All Chrissy Teigen and John Legend wanted to do was to fly to Tokyo to celebrate the end of the hell year 2017 with some sushi. Instead, they found themselves at the center of a time-consuming transpacific fiasco, which may or may not be indicative of the existence of the deep state but which definitely proves that airline ticket scanning machines are fake and do nothing.

The couple took off from Los Angeles Tuesday night only to learn, four hours into their international flight, that they'd have to turn back because someone on the plane was not supposed to be on the plane. Teigen, live-tweeting the entire affair, had no idea how this person even got on the plane — their ticket was evidently issued by a completely different airline. "Basically the boarding pass scanner is just a beedoop machine that makes beedoop noises that register to nowhere," she tweeted.

After a few more hours at LAX, Teigen and Legend were allowed to board another, Star Wars-themed plane to Tokyo, but not before a right wing Twitter account had speculated that the whole affair was concrete evidence of the couple's entanglement with the deep state.

Ticket scanners? Absolutely fake. The deep state? Possibly real.
