Rihanna calls for an end to gun violence following the death of her cousin

Rihanna has called for an end to gun-related violence after the death of a man she named as her cousin. The singer shared a series of pictures of herself with an unnamed man, tagged as @merka-95 on Instagram. The Guardian reports, per local news in Barbados, that the victim of the shooting was 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne.

She wrote on Instagram: "RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!" She added the hashtag #endgunviolence.

Local media suggests police are investigating the death and have urged anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
