On Thursday, Spotify enacted a new "hate content and hateful content" policy, resulting in the removal of all music by R. Kelly and XXXTentacion from their official playlists. The same evening, Tay-K suggested the policy might be affecting him as well.
"My songs have been removed from playlists because I’m being accused of something that I haven't been convicted for," he wrote in a tweet. "I don’t make hate music I rap about what goes on in every hood in America. I will never let a situation hold me back from what I believe in."
Tay-K is currently in prison in Texas awaiting trial for murder and robbery charges from June 2016. In March, a judge denied his bail. Yesterday, Spin reported that his music did indeed appear to be removed from Spotify's official playlists. All three artists' music remains on the platform as a whole.
