Daniel Kaluuya to star in new film Queen & Slim written by Lena Waithe and James Frey

Daniel Kaluuya will star in a new thriller named Queen & Slim written by Lena Waithe, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The film, which will be directed by Melina Matsoukas, will reportedly be a "Bonnie & Clyde" type film about a black man and woman who kill a cop in self-defense after being pulled over and must go on the run.

Kaluuya will play the role of Slim, while no one has yet been selected to play Queen. The script was written by Waithe, with the treatment by Frey; Queen & Slim will be Matsoukas feature directorial debut.
