In June, Prince's estate announced A Piano & A Microphone, a collection of previously unreleased Prince songs, to be released on September 21. The announcement came with "Mary Don't You Weep," a song recorded in the '80s. Spike Lee recently revealed his new film BlacKkKlansman has "Mary Don't You Weep" in its end credits, and on Wednesday he shared a video for the tune consisting of images and clips from the movie. Lee told Rolling Stone he believed the song was destined to be used on BlacKkKlansman, and that his late friend would have approved. "Prince wanted me to have that song, I don’t care what nobody says," he said. "My brother Prince wanted me to have that song. For this film. There’s no other explanation to me. This cassette is in the back of the vaults. In Paisley Park. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, it’s discovered? Nah-ah. That ain’t an accident [laughs]."
