Demi Lovato has clarified a now-deleted tweet that resulted in backlash. Twitter users criticized the singer after she said she'd been laughing at memes about 21 Savage. Savage was detained by ICE earlier today and reportedly faces deportation.

ICE officials say the rapper is a U.K. national who entered the U.S. legally in 2005 but "subsequently failed to depart under the terms of his nonimmigrant visa."

Among those who were critical of Lovato was rapper Wale.
