John Cho will star in live action remake of Cowboy Bebop

Danielle Pineda, Mustafa Shakir and Alex Hassell have also been tapped for roles in the upcoming Netflix project.

See you in space, cowboy. Netflix has outlined an upcoming reimagining of Cowboy Bebop, the Shinichirō Watanabe galactic western anime that aired in the late nineties. Today, the streaming platform announced the initial cast of the project. THR reports that John Cho will lead the show as Spike Spiegel. Mustafa Shakir (of Luke Cage) will assume the role of sidekick Jet Black, while Danielle Pineda and Alex Hassell will play con artist Faye Valentine and ultimate hench Vicious, respectively.

Bebop purists, fear not. OG showman Watanabe will serve as a consultant on the new series, while Alex Garcia Lopez has been confirmed to direct the first two episodes. There's no telling yet as to when the ten episode run will hit Netflix. Until then, bump the original show soundtrack below.
