Hear Kim Petras’s new single “Broken”

For the past two years, Kim Petras has introduced herself to the pop landscape with a string of titanium one-off singles. She capped off the releases back in February with her SOPHIE collab "1,2,3 dayz up," and today, she's sharing "Broken," a new song that's billed as "the first taster from her new era."

There's no word as to whether that "era" implies a new album or project, but "Broken" does sound and feel like a significant departure from everything in her catalog thus far. A bit darker and more grounded, but still cathartic in its execution, the song finds Petras condemning a past love atop a airy trap beat.
