SZA is in Australia right now to headline Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass festival, and during her Sunday night headline set she whipped out a brand new cover of Wheatus’ memey classic “Teenage Dirtbag.” While SZA has frequently covered other nineties classics (most notably Sixpence None The Richer’s “Kiss Me,”) this is the first time she’s covered the iconic Wheatus track. It’s been a hot minute since SZA released her debut album Ctrl, but she hasn’t left fans high and dry; this year she’s dropped the Game Of Thrones song “Power Is Power,” as well as a DJ Khaled collab from his record Father of Asahd. In March, she performed at an Aretha Franklin tribute concert. Earlier this year, the singer made a complaint about being racially profiled in a Calabasas Sephora outlet, resulting in sensitivity training for all staff.
