Cardi B to appear in Bernie Sanders campaign video

The pair sat down for a face-to-face conversation this week.

Cardi B will reportedly star in a campaign video for Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. CNN reports that the pair, who have exchanged compliments in recent weeks, met up on Monday at black-owned Detroit nail salon TEN Nail Bar. According to CNN Cardi and the Democratic candidate will use the video to engage young voters ahead of the 2020 election.

“We [are] working on a way to involve more young people in the political process,” Sanders told CNN about the video. “The future of America depends on young people. They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers.”

Cardi marked the meeting on Instagram, sharing a picture of her and Sanders along with a caption in which she thanked him for, "sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country. Stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic, racial and social justice for all. Together, let’s build a movement of young people to transform this country.”

In the past Cardi has Cardi publicly admired Bernie's stance on free healthcare and college tuition. Sanders also spoke about her on a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, saying she is: "really smart and... deeply concerned about what is happening in this country."
