Central Bookings Intl. channels the surveillance state with new catalog

Over and over again people complain about how much time they spend on their phones but few actually do anything to change the habit. The NYC-based lifestyle brand Central Bookings Intl. has taken the initiative to help, as part of their new collection which includes a mail order catalog you can get shipped directly to you, just like the olden days without electronics. The items in the release, include clever CIA-referencing "CBI" sweatshirts and toys, a clear nod to the whole concept around the brand: a commentary on sheep-like fashion consumers, and brands as soulless authority.

The CBI's founder, who wishes to stay anonymous, elaborated via email: "Our aesthetic is what the masses chose and they know it. Surveillance has been the key to our success. We know what inmates need before they do. Central Bookings International™ is a criminal enterprise. This has been the motto and it will continue to be our motto. The game never changes, only the players. The first shall be last and the last shall be first!"
