Anna Nasty, the artist formerly known as Olivia Neutron-John, has announced that they will retire their stage name after being served a cease and desist letter from Olivia Newton-John this past summer. "Because I have very limited resources, I was unable to fight it," they wrote in an Instagram post. "I am going to take this as an opportunity to step back and reinvent. Although it has been very difficult and emotional closing this chapter of my life, I’m excited for a new beginning. I’ll be back again, under another name."

Nasty's self-titled debut project as Olivia Neutron-John arrived this past May via Sister Polygon. A few weeks back, they opened for Stereolab at one of the band's first New York shows in over a decade. "I thought about booking a goodbye show, but I couldn’t have planned a better way to go out," Nasty wrote on their Instagram. Read their full statement below.
