Kanye West announces new opera Mary

Kanye West has announced Mary, an opera set to take place this Sunday in Miami. The follow-up to November’s Nebuchadnezzar opera, which starred Sheck Wes as the titular emperor and West as the show’s narrator, Mary is directed by West’s longtime creative partner Vanessa Beecroft.

Mary will feature West’s Sunday Service choir as Nebuchadnezzar did. As Pitchfork points out, Mary’s venue is Miami Marine Stadium — a sports arena featuring an expanse of water usually used for power boat races. View West’s announcement tweet for Mary below.
