Despite being 15 years old, the Lebanese artist Japan, Man is adept at capturing the internal struggles we face. She's released two songs so far that deal with judgment from others but her new single "Easy Target" starts within.
The dreamy production from her uncle, Julian Cassia, feels like cotton candy and if you heed her lyrics closely your reality won't turn into a nightmare ("My promenade through the starry night is hell when I'm with you"). They combine for a dance-friendly pop break in your busy day.
She explained in an email the inspiration for the track: “'Easy Target' is a song I wrote about your own mind turning on you and making you feel targeted by almost everything. It’s about self-consciousness overtaking common sense and assurance."
