Sometimes Mos Def and The Mars Volta are all the talking points needed to form a new collective. That was the music Florida-based group seeyousoon bonded over when they formed in 2018. seeyousoon is comprised of vocalists Mitch, Maddie, Josh, Luke, Dre, and Drex plus producers Ignacio, Kenny, and Denny. They are making their debut with the fun video for "Steamy," which is not to be taken too seriously.

The four verses featured on this track are delivered in the video via different forms of therapy. Josh performs his on the couch, one-on-one with a therapist with the standout bar, "Heavy shots buckin', many mothers weepin' like Willow/Whip my culture back and forth." Luke, meanwhile, is joined by everyone else in a group therapy session. Later, while Dre faces the man in the mirror, Mitch gets into his own head to hype himself up before a show.

In an email, the group explained their emotions surrounding their first single: "'Steamy' was the first song we created as seeyousoon and it feels right to have it be the first song the world hears."
