Kendrick Lamar announced as headliner for 2020 Glastonbury Festival

He joins Diana Ross, Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift as the festival’s headliners.

Despite festivals like SXSW and Coachella being canceled or postponed in the wake of concerns surrounding COVID-19, the 2020 Glastonbury Festival recently announced Kendrick Lamar as one of its headliner. The rapper joins Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Diana Ross, Burna Boy, FKA twigs, Thom Yorke and more on the festival's 50th-anniversary lineup.

So far, the festival is scheduled to go on as planned despite looming pubic health concerns, which include directives to avoid large gatherings. “As things stand we are still working hard to deliver our 50th anniversary Festival in June and we are very proud of the bill that we have put together over the last year or so," said festival organizer Emily Eavis in an Instagram caption marking the announcement, adding the entire lineup will be revealed in May. "No one has a crystal ball to see exactly where we will all be 15 weeks from now, but we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed that it will be here at Worthy Farm for the greatest show on Earth."

E recently, Kendrick teased a mysterious creative project, pgLang, sharing its website and a four-minute "visual mission statement" featuring Baby Keem, Jorja Smith, and Yara Shahidi.

Glastonbury Festival 2020 will take place June 24 - June 28 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, England.
