Eight years passed between Atta Boy's debut album, Out of Sorts, and their return last month with the mellow country-leaning single in "Devoted" and the annoucement of a new album, Big Heart Manners. The second single from the record is "Shade," premiering above, a similarly understated and sweet-sounding song that hides a dark heart under its soft piano chords.

"Shade was a song I co-wrote with my partner Cameron Crosby," Atta Boy lead singer Eden Brolin wrote in an email to The FADER. "I was inspired by a dream I had about a set of twins, brother and sister, that had been separated from each other in this big manor. They could communicate through walls and see each other from windows but their separation drove them to a point of deep despair — the result being a joint decision to jump out mirroring windows into the center courtyard to their deaths. For Cameron, the idea was similar: being so close to someone, but without the ability to be physically close, driving you to your absolute highest and lowest points."

Listen to "Shade" at the top of the page. Big Heart Manners is out June 26.
