The saga of Pepe The Frog, a cartoon character created by Matt Furie, is a nightmare for any artist. Once a cult symbol of slackerdom and taking it easy, Pepe was turned into a meme, which was quickly co-opted by fascists, the far right, and supporters of President Donald Trump. Feels Good Man is a new documentary focusing on the Pepe saga and Furie's fight to reclaim the once-chill frog as a symbol of love and hope. Today, Sharon Van Etten is sharing a song she wrote for the film called "Let Go."
Van Etten shared a statement about her thoughts on the film, which airs October 19 on PBS. "After watching the documentary, I just followed the feeling of coming to terms with something and tried to evoke peace through my melody and words."
