Frank Ocean is reportedly set to direct his debut movie, with esteemed indie studio A24 in talks to distribute it. Discussing Film notes that Ocean is negotiating with A24 and another production company, 2AM, with a view to working with both on the title.
Details of the movie are unclear at present with Ocean's only previous directorial work being the visuals that accompanied his 2016 album Endless. He has licensed his music to a number of A24 movies in the past, most notably Waves, which featured his songs "Godspeed" and "Seigfried." He also wrote the foreword to a published version of the Moonlight in 2019.
A24 has previously inked a production deal with Travis Scott in 2021, with Scott's company Cactus Jack signing up for a series of films, including one that shares a title with Scott's upcoming album Utopia.
Ocean has kept a typically low profile in recent months but is confirmed to headline Coachella in 2023.
