Speaking about the new album, Duffy says they were inspired by a songwriting class they taught in summer 2021. “For Sugar the Bruise, I had no plan other than to let my mind go blank, and lean into the playful side of things,” they explain. “To laugh a little, to lighten up, to shift the focus off of my own experience a bit.”

Additionally, Duffy has announced a west coast North America summer tour that includes Hand Habits shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco. They will also be opening for Tegan & Sara as well as playing festival dates at Hipnic and Pop Montreal. See below for dates.

Last year Duffy released “Greatest Weapon” and “Under The Water,” a split single with Sylvan Esso's Amelia Meath. Their most recent album Fun House was released in 2021.
