His music carries the unmistakeable traces of SpaceGhostPurrp's raw haze and the narcotic melodies of Drain Gang; for his new song "Pop Trunk," he heads to Milwaukee, home of the song's other toplined artist AyooLii.
evilgiane, a member of the New York rap collective Surf Gang, handles production duties and proves himself a canny conduit for the rappers' oddball chemistry. The synths have butterfly wings and constantly ascend like the looped climax of a Sigur Ros song as a relentless, deep-fried beat inspired by the underground club rap peeking out of AyooLii's hometown pumps handclaps directly into your brain's pleasure centers. It's a worthy follow-up to their previous collaboration "same" and a welcome reminder of how enchanting rappers can be when they rap like the only thing watching is SoundCloud's website code.
