In a dismal sign for New York City's nightlife, Paragon announced that it's shuttering in April 2025. The three-year-old club in Bushwick, Brooklyn, posted to Instagram on Wednesday that the "financial reality of this industry" prompted the closing, adding that the venue is now up for sale.
I, like many other night owls in the city, have spent many a nights there and will miss the venue's two-floor layout, which offered a great reprieve to escape the sweaty heat and fogged-up dance floor, and bask in the AC and peer down at my fellow partygoers from the elevated vantage point of the DJ booth. When things got too rowdy on the main floor, a trip down to its intimate basement was always a treat; it's where I was put on to local DJs like x3butterfly.
But Paragon isn't dead yet. There's still a slew of parties being held there before it closes for good with sets from SOFTT, UNiiQU3, MJ Nebreda, Eli Escobar and more. See a list of events to go to, below.
