On The Street: St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Sydney

March 03, 2009

On the other side of the world they're experiencing the tale end of summer and St Jerome's Laneway Festival in Sydney proved to be the epicenter of chill Australian summer looks. Our Australian style contributor Nat Jones filled us in on the fashion and music happs: "St Jerome's has managed to avoid a lot of the growing pains of other Aus festivals by restricting numbers and boasting an eclectic lineup for a number of years now. This year was no different, with everyone from dubstep don Rusko to LA noise makers No Age plus all kinds of randomness in between. These kinds of beats attract much more than the usual Bogan (read: Redneck) and Barbie crowds. From jumpsuits to over the top dresses, all styles were on display. Bright colors and buttoned up outfits seemed prevalent and while elements of fluro (Read: fluorescent) could still be spotted, they seemed to have run their poisonous course here in Aus."
