Harlem, “Someday Soon” Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

Harlem, Austin’s scraggliest ragtag bunch of loveable misfits hit the stage hard this year at the Levi’s® FADER Fort. We think that being Austinites and all made it easier for them to feel right at home.  But then again, these are the kind of guys who would feel right at home anywhere.  Listen to the jam, “Someday Soon” and then watch the Gwar interview where you might be able to catch a tiny glimpse of these dudes hanging out with them in the back of our trailer, partaking in what might have been illegal substances.

Fool’s Gold, “Surprise Hotel” at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

If you haven’t seen the easy, breezy video for Fool’s Gold’s “Surprise Hotel,” then you weren’t disappointed that the cutie pie puppy who stars in the video wasn’t carousing with the crowd. And even though there were no old dudes having a soda war with each other, either, we know in our hearts the Levi’s® FADER Fort is just as much weird fun.

Fort Alum: Yelawolf is a King of Beers

If you were there for Yelawolf’s performance at this year’s Levi’s® FADER Fort, then you know that he is heavy into sharing libation love, as he threw cans of beer into the audience, inviting them to party with him. Last week, Alabama’s boy wonder stopped by The FADER and we couldn’t help but fall right into celebration mode as soon as he walked in the building.

Marina and the Diamonds, “Oh No!” at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

If there were an indie rock opera, we’d want Marina Diamandis clobbering a Puccini masterpiece. But instead of watching her as Cio-Cio San in Madame Butterfly, we can pour over this Marina and the Diamonds set from the Levi’s® FADER Fort. She certainly has her sartorial game in check, fitting her in either forum.

The Very Best, “Tengazako” Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

The rainpocalypse has hit New York City hard, so we’re revisiting The Very Best’s performance at the Levi’s® FADER Fort to brighten up our day a little bit. If you are fortunate to be in town without a downpour, we invite you to use it as an appropriately sunny soundtrack.

Nas & Damian Marley, “Road to Zion” Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

First night closers and surprise guests of the Levi’s® FADER Fort, Nas and Damian Marley taking us into Friday.

Memory Tapes, “Bicycle” Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

We care about your safety at the Levi’s® FADER Fort, so we do not advise you to listen to Memory Tapes‘ “Bicycle” while you’re riding your own—at least not on headphones. But we do suggest you fashion a little set of speakers onto your handlebars so that you can blast this exuberant song while cruising around your neighborhood.

Chico Mann Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

Antibalas enthusiasts unite! It’s Chico Mann at the Levi’s® FADER Fort.

Neon Indian, “Should Have Taken Acid With You,” live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

Neon Indian has graced more than one Levi’s® FADER stage in his young career of making music that people legitimately want to dance to—whether it’s in a dark basement in NYC or a wide-open stage in the middle of sunburned Texas. Here’s a little clip from his set at the latter, a now well-known jam called “Should Have Taken Acid With You.” Funny enough, we saw this phrase on a t-shirt at Lollapalooza, and we would like one please! Also, don’t forget that the terminally-chill Neon Indian will be playing a free show at Governor’s Island tomorrow!

Everything Everything, “MY KZ, UR BF” Live at the Levi’s® FADER Fort

Everything Everything waxed poetic on the Levi’s® FADER stage at the Fort this year, coaxing the crowd into some light sway-dancing after a heavy meal of barbecue and beer. We didn’t mind the blissful, hazy vibe of this band at all. But in doing some research about a lyric from this song that we originally thought was related to the television series LOST, we learned something. A Faraday Cage is a metallic enclosure that prevents the entry or escape of an electromagnetic (EM) field. The more you know!
