Rustie, “FACT Mixtape 79″ MP3
The Glasgow-based producer/DJ Rustie just won our hearts with his latest mixtape for FACT Magazine: he put like everyone we love (Sweat.X, Hudson Mohawke, The-Dream etc) on it. He even included our longtime favorite “Georgia Peach”—the Atlantan “downtown” rapper Rasheeda! Like dude, people in America don’t even check for Rasheeda! How focused is your game! He also mixed some of his own sickass productions—like kicking back in the “strobe” room with a pack of gum and a bubble bath—with Ace Hood and Lil Scrappy. What do Southern rappers sound like in Glaswegian? How can we be down? Cop the mixtape over at FACT mag and check the bazonkos track list after the jump.

- story THE FADER
We had a mental debate with ourselves over whether or not to post this, but then we decided we should because we’ve never been ones to keep Akon from the people. At this point, DJ Khaled has almost single handedly resurrected the large posse cut, overdone it and then destroyed it. BUT! Like clockwork, as we’re approaching summer he’s getting ready to drop another album that will probably make us continue to envision Miami as one huge production line of smiling rappers stacking money from a conveyor belt on a yacht. Also in this vision DJ Khaled would be the foreman of the whole operation and he’d be a really unfair boss but as long as you were getting money he’d be cool.

- story THE FADER
A couple months ago this kid’s name was Ace Gutta, and now it’s Ace Hood. We might’ve changed Ace, but whatever, he’s still on Khaled’s label (guess what it’s called? hint: not We The Okayest) and at least Ross has his clear lenses and tight suit on again in this video. That dude’s fashion game is so locked up it’s crazy. On the other hand, if you know who is making T-Pain’s tophats, please let us know. We want to bring that guy to fashion week. Ace’s hat is fine, and he has a free mixtape, Ace Won’t Fold, available for download. It’s pretty short and has a “Lollipop” freestyle.
