Live: Dead Weather Play a Small Dark Room for the Privileged Few
- story THE FADER
Midday yesterday, Dead Weather aka Jack White and Alison Mosshart and two other less famous though still valuable folks, played a pop-up shop on Chrystie Street in Manhattan. - story Peter Macia
In our current summer music issue, we concocted a line graph of supergroups gone wrong, and suggested The Dead Weather, comprised of Jack White (White Stripes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs), might be an exception to the rule. We didn’t base this solely on their collective hair, but on their new album Horehound, out July 14th, which, contrary to the complacent non-jams on most supergroup albums, makes it sound like being a gigantic rock star is the most aggravating job in the world. We know for a fact that manual labor is more aggravating, but Horehound is still awesome. Hear it right now in its entirety for 24 hours on The Internet.
