As soon as we heard that Karen Tack and Alan Richardson, the masterminds behind Hello, Cupcake!, were working on their new follow-up cookbook, we rolled up to their doorstep begging, whining and searching for treats. It’s a good thing they’re familiar with dog behavior because after we settled down a little, they cautiously—and graciously— let us in. They gave us a tour of their color-coordinated sprinkle cabinets, a rundown of just about every candy under the sun and instructions on how to make cupcakes look like spaghetti and meatballs. We were so psyyyyched when we left, bearing foil swans filled with cupcakes, that we have been listening to Vanilla Fudge and Strawberry Alarm Clock ever since (wokka wokka). Back when I was a squirrelly little intern at New York Noise, my boss used to tell me about her favorite salad blog called Last Night’s Salad Party. It just so happened to be run by Peggy Wang, current Pains of Being Pure at Heart keyboardist and vocalist. Unfortunately it is no longer (R.I.P., Salad Party!), but being a fellow salad enthusiast, I invited Peggy and her bandmates, Kip and Alex over to help make not just any ordinary salad but a salad tower, which was actually a ploy to try and inspire Peggy to resurrect LNSP. It might have failed, but if you listen carefully, you can hear Peggy inventing some new salads on the spot. I might already be planning on making that brains salad for dinner tonight. FADER TV: Cooking With Amazing Baby

Do you know what the hell a Buffalo Nothing is? Do you want to know? Excite your culinary palate with some homemade video treats from the psychedelic minds of Amazing Baby, whose “Head Dress” video we posted this morning. We imagine that munchies are a well-treaded topic amongst the Baby crew, and to prove us right, they visited our test kitchen the other day to teach us some tricks. A bottle of Frank’s Red Hot and a tampered-with smoke alarm later, our bellies were full of fine eats. This ain’t your run-of-the-mill Top Chef here. This is rockstar food.
