Freeload: Bishop Lamont, Warren G, Busta Rhymes, Stat Quo, Ryan C. Fresh, Xzibit, Glasses Malone, Ras Kass & Mykestro Do A Couple Songs Together

New Bishop Lamont songs are like little surprise presents that come around once every four months or so, and the person giving them to us keeps on promising us a really big one that is perpetually right around the corner. These songs are notable because they made us care about Xzibit as a rapper again and also because “Gorilla Pimpin 5008″ has a shoegaze undercurrent of rippling synth washes that seemed so strange that we actually had to check twice to make sure we weren’t playing two songs at once. Both of these are from the Bishop Lamont and DJ Whoo Kid mixtape The Confessional, which is being put out to promote Lamont’s supposedly upcoming album, we’ll start holding our breath now.

Audio: Bishop Lamont, “Smokin King Kong” Produced By Dr Dre

Supposedly this is produced by Dr Dre, but considering every time we say that it turns out to actually mean Produced By Anyone Except Dr Dre But We’re Saying Dr Dre For Some Confusing Reason. Anyway, Bishop Lamont is awesome, we’ve been waiting for his album since dinosaurs were chilling on earth, we hope it comes soon, and holy shit look at that mixtape cover.

Freeload: Bishop Lamont & Black Milk’s Caltroit Mixtape

We heard beats Black Milk was working on for this mixtape when we interviewed him a while back but he definitely forgot to mention that Kardinal Offishal and, ahem, MS. FREAKING JADE (and Lady of Rage?) were on it. If you haven’t noticed we play old Jade joints every week on the Let Out, so we are pumped to have some new material. Thanks dudes. The whole tape is really good though so go get it.
