Freeload: Gucci Mane, “Running Back”
- story THE FADER
The way Gucci Mane continues to release music, you’d never guess he was away at “summer camp.” Who knows when this was actually recorded, but it’s new to our ears and no less the treat. DJ Speedy, you are most certainly a fool for this one (as well as this one), but what follows is a short list of things that blew our mind while listening to “Running Back”:
1. Violin breakdown
2. Skrings
3. The words “Jamaica, Queens”
4. Beatbox breakdown

Freeload: DJ Speedy f. Gucci Mane & Yo Gotti, “Light Show”
- story THE FADER
Aside from some early production work for younger Young Jeezy, DJ Speedy had kind of been flying under our radar until he linked up with two of our favorite G’s, Gucci Mane and Yo Gotti, for this single off his (hopefully) impending album. “Light Show” is minimal compared to most Speedy production (a sample of which he can be heard rapping over on an incredible song called “Gangsta Nerd” on his myspace page), but Gucci and Gotti have such limber singing voices that they’re able to fill the gaps nicely. Somewhere Johnny Gill is crying.
