As you will see after the jump (IF YOU DARE), our recent Gen F on Emily Jane White is titled What Lies Beneath and talks much about her brooding album Dark Undercoat. FADER 51: Mexico City Rock

For Issue 51, we went south to the second biggest city in the world to find the little bands who’d been destroying our MySpaces and iPods for the better part of 2007. The result was a discovery of a scene bubbling up from the polluted streets, ready to challenge Mexico’s image in and out of the country. After the jump, read David Bevan’s feature story on Mexico City Rock, watch Arturo Jimenez’s videos filmed while we were there and grab a couple songs by some of the bands in the story, namely Los Fancy Free, Jessy Bulbo, and Evil Hippie.

Video: Santogold, “Creator” (Live @ FADER 51 Party)

If you couldn’t make it down to Studio B aka The Middle of Nowheresville last week for our Issue #51 party, don’t feel bad because the internet is sort of like a party too. Minus the free beer. And human interaction. And dancing. Anyway, the internet is still awesome, so take this video of our current coverlady Santogold performing “Creator” with her badass crew and dance with a couch cushion or something. We’ll have some more audio-visual stuff for you tomorrow.

Audio: Teyana Taylor, “Google Me”

We spoke to Teyana Taylor for our current issue and, um, we’re pretty sure she is the future not only on some “children are our future” but on some turn the 8 in 2008 on its side and right now is infinity and we are there and here and now and always. She is all places at all times, zooming past cool and sly. If you did not know, she has encouraged you to google her, because you will find out that we are correct and eons are colliding up in Harlem when she opens her mouth because there is little better. Take our word for it and/or read Teyana’s Gen F after the jump and see some of Marvi Lacar’s incredible photo outtakes.

(thanks to Concrete Loop for the audio)

Last night at Studio B, amid the revelry and free Bass pale ale we watched Timbaland’s new tongue-twisty rapper Izza Kizza perform what was apparently his first concert ever, followed by Santogold’s Diplo backed set of awesome songs from her upcoming record, flanked by her own gunless versions of Public Enemy’s S1Ws who were doing lots of choreographed military style maneuvers. Did we mention Switch DJed as well? Good times. (Photos by Dorothy Hong)

Vote for More Black Kids on MTV

Don’t ever let anyone tell you you were late to a party before it’s even started. Black Kids might have a shit ton of glowing reviews and blog coverage behind them but they’re just getting started. MTV has them up for Spanking New Artist of 2008 contention (along with a grip of other folks from recent FADERses) and they’ll be touring the UK for the next couple of months (dates here. In the meantime, click more to read their Gen F from FADER 51 and make sure to download their free EP Wizard of Ahhhs at their website.

Freeload: Mickey Factz, Heaven’s Fallout

Pretty soon Mickey Factz will literally be able to bury us in mp3s. Here’s another free mixtape from him, featuring a Prodigy (not of Mobb Deep) sampling “Smack My Bitch Up,” among a bunch of other tracks that sound like they are from the future world of 1988. After the jump, check Stacey Dugan’s Gen F from F51 where Factz admits that he went to high school with Drag-on (What’s good Drag-on?)
