Video: French Montana f. Ma$e, “New York Minute (RMX)”
Whoa whoa whoaaaa! So one of the best songs of the year, French Montana’s “New York Minute” (aka OG/better “Empire State of Mind”) has this line that’s all like, “New York Minute/bring Ma$e back”—and then he actually did. What is Ma$e even doing right now? Wasn’t he a preacher, then he was on G Unit, then he was a preacher again, then he made up with Diddy and now French Montana got him back in the game simply by name-dropping him? If we name-drop everyone we want to come back, do you think they will? We’re gonna try that right now. New York Minute! Bring RBX back, bring Jodeci back, bring Andre 3000 back, bring the old Roc back, bring Drake back, bring Nicole Wray back, bring Mystikal back, bring 3x Krazy back, bring Silk Tymes Leather back! NEW YORK MINUTE!

Freeload: G-Unit f. Mavado, “Let It Go”
- story THE FADER
Aside from the beat sort of starting off like People Under The Stairs or something, it’s pretty nuts to hear Mavado chopping it up with Lloyd and Tony on this—a far better showing than his previous brushes with Big Apple rappers like Jay or Foxy. In fact, if this doesn’t get blasted heavily by the dude who parks on our street at 5am every morning, we are going to call 311 and file a very heated suggestion that a sign be put up asking people to turn down their stereos please.

OK, He’s Reloaded
- story THE FADER
Today’s big G-G-G-Unit news might be the announcement of the Anger Management 3 Tour (thugged out 12-year-old suburbanites of America, rejoice!) but the Tony Yayo mixtape is more up our alley.
We’ve been waiting since the first G-Unit tapes (with the gun font!) for our second favorite Tony to come out with a disc of his own. We’ve been waiting almost as long to have a reason to post this picture of Yayo rocking protective shop glasses (suuuuure, they’re from a gun range, whatever you say).
SAFETY FIRST!
