RCRD LBL Freeload: Get Em Mamis, “Planet Swag”

Whoa! The ongoing collabo of Bmore legends Darkroom Productions x Get Em Mamis, the kickiest rappers South of the Jerz T-Pike, continues slaying. “Planet Swag” has a sort of “driving in the low-low with the neon runners through an anti-gravity chamber” feel. Or, more accurately, “wilin in the G4,” according to the lyrics. These are the types of independent women Jamie Foxx and Fabo sing about, get ‘em girls!

Bmore’s tuffest chicas filmed their new video atop a parking garage, featuring donks and hoppers, for all the club queens and the banjee titches. “And if you want beef we got steak like Outback” is now basically our perpetual status update.

Freeload: Get Em Mamis, “Rock With Me”

Last Friday, Bmore party slayers the Get Em Mamis came through FADER Radio and world-exclusive debuted this extra-hot new track, produced by DJ Booman. Roxzi rapped along and Symph held the computer while we approximated our best Baltimore club rumpshaker and laughed. These ladies just shot a video in Bmore with a bunch of crazy carz and their album is coming soon from venerated Darkroom Productions, so do not catch yourself sleeping. Also, they can drink and rap you under the table.

FADER/Southern Comfort 7-inch Series #7: Get ‘Em Mamis & Hood Headlinaz

According to Baltimore’s Get ‘Em Mamis, “They Jockin,’” the Darkroom Productions produced track they laid for the seventh edition of our FADER/Southern Comfort 7-inch series, will get the elderly “doing the Yung Joc in their wheelchairs,” and our guess is that it might also spark use of the ridiculous superlative “terrawesome” (”somewhere between terrific and awesome”). Over on the record’s A-side, the whole Hood Headlinaz crew (Mata, Mali Boi, Dawgy Baggz, Jhi Ali and Gunt, as well as Wu-affiliate guest Rubbabandz) got together for their track “Tip Down.” When we asked Paper Route Recordz CEO Dawgy Baggz to explain “tipping down” to us northerners, because we though it had something to do with cars (thanks for nothing, urbandictionary.com), he said it means simply “going bananas.” Fair enough. And to wrap up this little present from us to you, artist Michael Genovese threw down some “tienda style lettering with a local Baptist church influence” on a wall in the Chicago Cultural Center and gave the two groups a little free advertising for the record’s cover.
