I Heart Blowout!

There’s nothing like the desire for designer clothing to make you feel the heavy impact of the economic recession. I Heart, the store that gives you the best of both worlds—affordable and refined—are alleviating that pain a little with their bi-annual three day blowout sale. That means things that were probably way out of price range before are way in range, which is great because the only things currently in our price range are pieces of cake. And sometimes when we’re roughing it we imagine paint chips are roast turkey sandwiches.
Stylee Fridays: I Heart Spring Preview

We dropped by the I Heart showroom to pay Jill and Cosmo the cat (showroom moscot and super fluffly Wowch model) a visit last week just in time for the new fall collections from Lonely Hearts, Wowch and PAM. Helene Morris of the label Lonely Hearts gave us an inkling of fall 08 things to come when we spoke to her about the US launch of the line in issue F53 so we were psyched to see the slightly grungy inspiration take shape in moody plaids, bomber jackets with jumbo-sized polka dots and some very intense saturated color dip-dyed shirts. If Cosmo the cat could speak we’re sure he would tell us that he is equally excited that Wowch is dipping his animal brethen into a sea of purple and turquoise tie-dye for fall 08 . Of course you can always count on Perks and Mini to get weird, and the new collection looks like a trip down the Nile in a spaceship with nothing but magic mushrooms in your knapsack for nourishment. NYC: Wowch Is Done

We could go in depth about all the cool surprises happening at I Heart in NYC tonight but its April Fools and we’d rather keep you in the grey. What we will tell you is at 4pm clothing brand WOWCH is having a “Going Out of Business Sale” and they will be selling T-shirts, hoodies and totes for cheap. Also, something about Tie-Dye and free Mimosas. Did you hear that? TIE DYE AND MIMOSAS! Just making sure you didn’t seizure from awesomeness. If you did, don’t swallow your tongue.
Stylee Fridays (on Monday!): Perks and Mini at I Heart

I was treated to a little sneak peek of new new Perks and Mini this week at the I Heart showroom in Nolita. For Spring 08, PAM are zanier than than ever (reason #1 why we ride for them) and literally left planet earth for inspiration with a collection they call Space Face. There are tons of great pieces in the line, but a few of my favorites include a blue shift dress with a shiny Mork & Mindy panel, an alien face print dress, a Miami-vice-goes-intergalactic bomber jacket and the piece de resistance—an extraterrestrial rain hat. Besides Perks, the lovely Jill of I Heart had more fashion goodness for us to look at, including a new line called Lonely Hearts from NZ (lots of fun printed dresses and ’80s inspired chambray) and new awesome weirdness from NYC label Wowch (more of that later). For now though, check out what the crazy Aussies have in store for your Spring 08 wardrobe.
