DFA Summer Mix by Jacquet Renault MP3
- story Matthew Schnipper
I don’t know what any of this shit is except for the Eddie Kendricks song, and that’s just because I used to read too much Soul Strut. It is what it is. This is like the opposite of when DJs would cover their labels with tape so you couldn’t read what they are playing. This is like putting it up on a projector and being like “Oh yeah you like this song, right? It’s awesome. Guess what you have no idea what it is because you aren’t cool.” Well we didn’t come to the club to be cool, we came to work it out. Check the tracklist after the jump, see if you can do any better.

- story THE FADER
FFF (like BFF but FADER) Justin Miller and his PIC Jacques Renault crafted a mix for Fact and they ended it with a slowed down dub of Loose Joints “Tell You Today.” Piano tinkle jabs at ten BPM all day.

The above pictured Justin Miller and his partner in 205 Tuesdays Jaques Renault have made this season’s first addition to DFA’s radio mixes. If the words “Igntion—Secret Sunday Lover (Greg Wilson Edit) (Love is War Music)” all in a row make sense to you, then, well, you are probably Justin Miller or Jaques Renault. But if they are slightly baffling but also enticing (like guacamole or wombats or Niagra Falls) then you should probably tease it out and take a listen. It’s breezy and smells like fresh cut grass.
