NYC: Soft Circle, Glasser and Awesome Tapes From Africa
- story THE FADER
Hello New York City, a bunch of our homies are going hard this weekend. Brian who does Awesome Tapes From Africa will be playing music like the Sunny Ade cassette above, alongside DJs from Escort and a performance from Teengirl Fantasy, who are generally confusing if not fairly colorful. This is happening in Tribeca at 92Y. Also tonight, in Brooklyn, the current beloved FADER office star, Glasser, has made her way east and is at Williamsburg’s Zebulon. And on Sunday you can go to Glasslands to see Soft Circle with Justin Miller and famous internet blogger Lovefingers DJing. Check the full flyer for that after the jump. You are going to have to figure out what to do on Saturday, we got nothing.

NYC: Justin Miller And Kieran Hebden DJ At The Diesel Store
- story THE FADER
When this flyer first came across our desks, we were thinking, This is cool BUT WILL THERE REALLY BE MARGARITAS? Then it occurred to us that it was ridiculous to even question whether there would be margaritas, because it is called Margarita Mondays. Margaritas aside, we’re actually about the music, which will be good because it’s coming from DFA’s Justin Miller and Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet. We know we’ll hear some disco but what will we get from Hebden? If we had to guess, we would say that at some point in the night he will play a Can song. Just a guess though. Either way, it’s Monday, it’s margaritas, and it’s free. RSVP here.

Freeload: DFA Mix For Fact Magazine
- story THE FADER
FFF (like BFF but FADER) Justin Miller and his PIC Jacques Renault crafted a mix for Fact and they ended it with a slowed down dub of Loose Joints “Tell You Today.” Piano tinkle jabs at ten BPM all day.

Audio: DFA Radio Mix Spring 2008
- story THE FADER
The above pictured Justin Miller and his partner in 205 Tuesdays Jaques Renault have made this season’s first addition to DFA’s radio mixes. If the words “Igntion—Secret Sunday Lover (Greg Wilson Edit) (Love is War Music)” all in a row make sense to you, then, well, you are probably Justin Miller or Jaques Renault. But if they are slightly baffling but also enticing (like guacamole or wombats or Niagra Falls) then you should probably tease it out and take a listen. It’s breezy and smells like fresh cut grass.
