Rustie, “FACT Mixtape 79″ MP3
The Glasgow-based producer/DJ Rustie just won our hearts with his latest mixtape for FACT Magazine: he put like everyone we love (Sweat.X, Hudson Mohawke, The-Dream etc) on it. He even included our longtime favorite “Georgia Peach”—the Atlantan “downtown” rapper Rasheeda! Like dude, people in America don’t even check for Rasheeda! How focused is your game! He also mixed some of his own sickass productions—like kicking back in the “strobe” room with a pack of gum and a bubble bath—with Ace Hood and Lil Scrappy. What do Southern rappers sound like in Glaswegian? How can we be down? Cop the mixtape over at FACT mag and check the bazonkos track list after the jump.

Rich Kids f. Lil Scrappy & Ludacris, “Partna Dem (Remix)” MP3
- story Felipe Delerme
The adorable little after-school swag team the Rich Kids (not pictured above with Luda and Scrappy) scored a certified hit this summer with “Partna Dem,” and reportedly, even had Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em requesting a meeting. They finally dropped their Money Swag mixtape a few weeks ago and if they’re not already selecting a next single, they’re probably figuring out which label the album will be released on. That doesn’t, however, stop recent DTP signee Lil Scrappy and his new boss Luda from joining in on the back-patting. Their version is a little more about what kind of things they like to do with their friends rather than who their friends actually are, but Luda does take the opportunity to smack Chingy upside the head high school cafeteria-style though.

Lil Scrappy f. Gucci Mane, “Look Like This” MP3
- story Peter Macia
On his recent Gucci’s “greatest hits” mix, Pete Butta led the whole thing off by cutting and rewinding Gucci’s opening line—I’m a monster at blowing ganja I need to stop/ And I’m bonkers two hundred thousand spent on the watch—on this Street Symphony-produced Scrappy song for about five minutes. It’s a little heavy-handed (and excessively scratchy) but we got the point: Scrappy tries so hard but Gucci still owns “Look Like This” by sounding like he barely cares. The song originally surfaced on the Gucci The Glacier mixtape back in May (still one of the best album covers of the year), but is now apparently going to be on Scrappy’s next album with the new second verse included here.

Posse cuts are totally the thing these days, but it’s somehow nice to see one that doesn’t include the usual Khaledians (not that we don’t have those ones on 24-7 rotation as well) popping up. Also, we can now add this song to our scary rap beats playlist.
