Tonight at the Cinders Gallery (103 Havemeyer St) in Brooklyn from 7-10pm, a bunch of artists we’re seriously into, including digital/animated visual experimentalist Michael Bell-Smith and Lucky Dragons (who helped us have what we now remember as basically the happiest day ever) are showing new work that is “exploring intimacy through technology and how it allows us to entertain and communicate, as well as create digital debris. Featuring 12 works by 8 artists that range from video to radio, painting and drawing to sculpture.” We’re already down, but in case you’re not sold here’s a bunch of stuff you could pretend Jamiroquai is singing from the Cinders Gallery website:

“Gone completely virtual. When happy, call it digital bliss. When sick, blame hackers; run anti-virus programs. If it’s viral, buy it with invisible credits. Lives are lived on chips/even the chips are somewhere else, in some mountain of hardware out west. Broken harddrives are eulogized, summer is a series of fun 0s and 1s, bathing suits are pop-up windows, pop-up windows need windex. Google us, facebook us, technorati us, aim us, spyware us, digg us, goatse.cx us, meme us, spotify us. Youtube nights. Cybersquatters rights. Digital debris. Futures made of virtual insanity now always seem to be governed by this love we have for useless twisting our new technology oh now there is no sound for we all live underground.” Full flyer after the jump.

FADER TV: Lucky Dragons Makes Us A Baby

Luke Fishbeck aka Lucky Dragons has a lot of wires that he knitted colorful coozies for, and connected braided tin to the end of and when you hold one of the wires in your hand and someone else holds one and you touch each other, it makes noises. If you have ever touched someone and had them make noise, you know it’s nice. And when that’s shifted by a computer and a tall, soft spoken, half halo-haired man from California it’s extra exaggerated. Fishbeck came to our conference room (and Madison Square Park) and gave us an explanation and demonstration of his Make A Baby project. It’s like when Tom Hanks jumps on the keyboard steps in Big. Or when you go to the aquarium for the first time and you realize that’s what a starfish feels like, self discovery, science and a taste of natural sorcery.

Lots Of Bands We Like Play In The East River Park Bandshell Tomorrow

We’ve got some websclusive Lucky Dragons stuff coming up a little later, so for now we will just tell you that what we did was good vibes central. Also good vibes central will be this outside show (starting at 3ish tomorrow) in the East River Park bandshell featuring the aformentioned Lucky Dragons as well as FADER bros Soiled Mattress and the Springs, Aniemental, Lexie Mt. Boys, John Wiese and David Horvitz. It’s going to be really hot tomorrow so wear sunscreen (or just get burned) and drink a lot of water while you are obviously having a great time at this event.

Freeload: Lucky Dragons, “Morning Ritual”

When we saw Lucky Dragons at Il Corral in LA a few years ago, he opened up for YACHT by swinging through the crowd on the ceiling rope, writhing on the ground, getting all up in people’s faces and being the most excellent extratall psych-jammer of all time. He’s been steadily dazing us with his computer freakouts since, and this new song off Dream Island Laughing Language (May 8, Marriage Recs) is no different. Take his moans, whistles and ragas and get your downward dog on.
