Shawty Lo f. Ludacris, Gucci Mane & The-Dream, “Atlanta, GA” MP3

Atlanta’s had so many solid dedications (+ another million) to its awesomeness that seeing this lineup and having it not be as good as it should’ve been is even tougher than it would’ve been for say, New York. Big Apple rappers make bad songs about this town all the time, but these guys ostensibly represent the top echelon of Atlantans not in the Dungeon Family or locked up and not one of them really shows up. Even Gucci and The-Dream, who lately can fart on the mic and get the club poppin’, contribute throwaways. Oh well, at least they still have some of the finest gentelmen’s clubs in the country.

Rich Kids f. Lil Scrappy & Ludacris, “Partna Dem (Remix)” MP3

The adorable little after-school swag team the Rich Kids (not pictured above with Luda and Scrappy) scored a certified hit this summer with “Partna Dem,” and reportedly, even had Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em requesting a meeting. They finally dropped their Money Swag mixtape a few weeks ago and if they’re not already selecting a next single, they’re probably figuring out which label the album will be released on. That doesn’t, however, stop recent DTP signee Lil Scrappy and his new boss Luda from joining in on the back-patting. Their version is a little more about what kind of things they like to do with their friends rather than who their friends actually are, but Luda does take the opportunity to smack Chingy upside the head high school cafeteria-style though.

The Future of Magazines: Music Videos!

We try to avoid the subject around here out of sensitivity, but the magazine business is, as most of you know, going through it’s ugly period right now. Hopefully, it will soon get a new haircut, drop the winter flab and refill the wardrobe to the total devastation of all those who left it for seemingly hotter prospects. In the meantime, we have The-Dream, Ludacris, Loso, Ross and Santana propping up some esteemed titles with the video for Dream’s “Rockin’ That Shit.” His album, Love vs. Money, comes out tomorrow, but you can preview the whole thing right here on TheFADER.com.

Don’t know what Luda’s talking about with the soul swimming but the rest of the dudes do alright. If you have not already perfected some kind of couch-humping routine to this song YOU ARE SLEEPING. CUSHION CRACK ANTHEM OF 2009.

Freeload: Ludacris f. Jay-Z & Nas, “I Do It For Hip Hop”

We were waiting for the tag-free version and here it is, from Luda’s Theater of the Mind, due November 24th. Produced by Wyldfyer, the same kid behind “Black Republicans” and “Last of a Dying Breed” featuring Likkle Wayne, the latter also from Theater. We love these dudes like brothers, but the only guy we know that they know that’s doing it only for Hip Hop at this point is Dame Dash. (thanks to Young Sav)

Video: T-Pain f. Ludacris, “Chopped & Screwed”

Special FX wizard Syndrome is back for T-Pain’s next video with Chris Bridges, off Thr33 Ringz. We’d like to sugest that they put all of these videos on a 3-D DVD, so we can see a piece of T-Pain’s face fly directly at us through a krumper’s legs.

Freeload: Ciara f. Ludacris, “High Price”

“Oh” by Ciara featuring Ludacris was the best R&B/rap matchup of 2004. Sorry, there is no arguing with us. It just was. Sometimes we wake ourselves up in the middle of the night because we are singing it in our sleep. More often than not, when we are awake, we like to pretend we are Ciara in the “Oh” video and climb on cars to do a little booty pop, just because we can. Cece and Chris B. are the perfect teamsters, ATL scene royalty with copious amounts of attitude and personality, at least when you put a beat in front of them. FURTHERMORE, this track, allegedly from Ciara’s forthcoming third album Fantasy Ride*, is produced by frequent The-Dream collaborator Tricky Stewart, whose D we are unashamedly JOCKING (um, have you heard The-Dream’s album? dude. dude. dude). Ciara sounds like she has been rehearsing with the Metropolitan Opera vocal coach and it is BAD. TO. THA. BONE. Yeah we said it.

*Sidebar: Fantasy Ride is in competition with Lloyd’s Love Spaceship as the best title of 2008. We are waiting to see what Kellz comes up with for his post-acquittal jernt before we make a firm decision (oh nevermind), but we encourage all artists to stay imagineering. Space and fantasy are both preeeetty safe bets.

Video: Sean Garrett f. Ludacris, “Grippin On The Bed”

Sean Garrett has written so many hit songs for so many people he is nicknamed The Pen, but like countless other behind-the-scenes’ers (Kanye, NeYo, the-Dream, Shaquille O’Neil, Tony Parker-Longoria) he is not content. He wants the world to hear his own voice, to speak in his own words with his own passionate vocal inflections! Which is awesome, because Sean Garrett is awesome. And of course, his words are more seductive than Tony Yayo, because when you’re writing that much behind a desk (or on a BlackBerry), you have a lot of pent-up energy. As is evidenced by the video for his first single, where he is swaying, singing and freaking very seriously. Incidentally, this includes one of our favorite Ludacris verses in a hot minute.

Audio: Usher f. Ludacris, “Dat Girl Right There” (Prod. By Rich Harrison)

Some dudes had it right when they wrote that this song is the most ridiculously weird song (produced by Rich Harrison, no less!) to come through pop music in awhile, but we are not mad at this development. In fact, we need more beats that remind us in every way of balloons and also these things:

1)Every single aspect of the children’s television program Boohbah

2)When Ludacris’ verse comes in and his voice gets pitched up so it sounds like he inhaled 23 pounds of helium is very similar to Andre’s “verse” in “It’s Okay” by Slimm Calhoun where he raps sped up and dressed as the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland.

3)JAMS!

Video: DJ Khaled f. Rap, “I’m So Hood (Remix)”

The first 19 verses of this are still completely baniddles, but somewhere around oh let’s say right after Wayne’s verse it falls off the face of the Earth. And if Busta wants to become the Mr T of rap we might support that movement. Oh and Big Boi is our favorite rapper today. And also WHERE IS T-PAIN?
