Freeload: Money Addict, “Born, Bred, Built”
- story THE FADER
Money Addict comes with one of our favorite tracks out of Huntsville yet. Creeping warped synth and Organized Noize drum clap mesh with M.A.’s underrated Alabama baritone to make for one of the more depressing songs we’ve ever heard from the Paper Route Recordz crew. And speaking of Organized Noize, Noz put together a compilation of rare and unreleased Goodie Mob tracks.

Spend Some Money/Freeload: PRGz, Fear and Loathing in Huntsvegas Mixtape
- story THE FADER
About a million years ago, Mad Decent announced they were teaming with Paper Route Recordz to release a mixtape of remixes and new material. Since that announcement, we’ve listened to samplers, select remixes from the mixtape and streams of the entire thing. Now it’s finally here and ready for download. For the price of a glass of water ($0.00) you can grab the whole thing, OR you can drop a whopping five bucks and get the tape in high quality with a bunch of bonus tracks. Our advice: bring your lunch tomorrow and spend five or six dollars on the mixtape.

Audio: G-Side, “Run Things” (Prod. by the Block Beataz)
- story THE FADER
About a year ago we went to Huntsville, Alabama to talk to the Paper Route Recordz crew, and since then they’ve been cranking out mixtapes and albums, and everyone and their mom (by which we actually mean Rich Boy and a couple other dudes) have jumped on the Mali Boi-produced “Rollin.” Mali Boi and C.P. have a Q+A up at Fairtilizer where they discuss Jah Cure, how they don’t listen to rap anymore and also how they are currently making beats as Block Beataz for what seems like every single resident of Huntsville. While you’re there listen to “Run Things,” which is from G-Side’s upcoming Starshipz & Rocketz and is produced by the duo.

Freeload: XO f. Cee-Cee, “Grind Baby”
- story THE FADER
While in Hunstville, Alabama we rode around in a car with Paper Route Recordz CEO Dawgy Baggz and talked about Project Pat while he played us new Paper Route songs. One of them sampled Weezer’s “Say it Ain’t So,” and when we heard it we flipped out because it was like two eras of our lives were colliding in front of a Chic-Fil-A next to a car dealership. Up until now, the song has only been available on DJ Benzi’s Paper Route sampler mixtape and also in our minds, but now Daniel Weisman aka Elitaste has it up for download.

Video: Jackie Chain f. Jhi Ali, “Rollin”
- story THE FADER
In case you didn’t know, we did a feature on Paper Route Recordz in our current issue (patience, it will be online soon.), and one of the paragraphs in that story begins, The track that perhaps best captures the crew’s catalog is the Mali Boi-produced “Rollin,” featuring Jhi Ali and Jackie Chain. Now that epochal track has a video, filmed at the Apex, also mentioned in the story. It is bootleg and it is outstanding.
