Freeload: Mystery Jets, “Three Doors Down (Plimsouls Remix)”
- story THE FADER
Though it will probably never overtake “Love In This Club” in sheer version frequency on The FADER, “Three Doors Down” is making a strong run at second. Plimsouls’ remix, which we got from the diligent Discobelle, removes the sparkling wine vibe of the original almost entirely and replaces it with gnarly vodka energy beer that will probably make us puke if we jump around too much and ultimately make us want to go back to the Mystery Jets’ version. Just like a remix should.

- story THE FADER
For a second there we thought Peter Case had moved to Bristol and was making crazy club jawns, but it turns out this other kid took the The off and is just going with Plimsouls but still making the jawns. Nearly everyone has used the term “8-bit” to describe Plimsouls’ music, but we don’t like how that sounds so we’re just going to say it’s made with computers and synthesizers. Regardless, he’s in the Ed Banger–>Institubes–>Other Dudes continuum and we need that kind of stuff on Mondays as much as Fridays. First, his latest original “Version” and then the mix he did for No Love Lost Records which starts out with Billy Bragg, raves out for a minute, then the Knife, then raves again, then that bananas Crookers Cudi remix, then a bit of rave. Be on the lookout for his remix of Mystery Jets’ “2 Doors Down” which Sam Richards talked about a couple weeks ago in Dollars To Pounds.
