Surface To Air Fall 2009 Is Ready For Your Shopping Cart
- story Chioma Nnadi
Somehow calculating the cost of a new winter wardrobe doesn’t seem half as bad when you do it in imaginary Euros, which gives us every excuse in the world to window shop the new Surface To Air fall 2009 collection that went up online this morning. Last season it was the buckled ankle sandals that had everyone in a tizzy (the strappy masterpieces are back by popular demand in several colors, including a very fancy pair in cobra lamé) but now that keeping our toes warm will soon be a consideration, their ankle boot update just seems like a shoe we won’t be able to live without for much longer. Then again, there are toggle coats, snowflake sweaters and camel cardigans to help blow all that monopoly money in one straight cyber shot, too.
Video: Midnight Juggernauts, “Into The Galaxy”
- story THE FADER
Now that zany incoherence finds its way into nearly every video, it’s nice to see it taken to a new artistic level in the hands of Rozan & Schmeltz who directed “Into The Galaxy” for design collective Surface 2 Air. We’re assuming that means Jérémie Rozan (one of S2A’s founders) concepted the CGI monoliths, giant scarves and the motocrosser who bursts into fireworks, and Martial Schmeltz said “Yeah we can do that.” Which all makes it pretty easy for the Midnight Juggs who just stand there and sound cool. Rozan & Schmeltz were also most notably responsible for Black Kids’ “Hurricane Jane” and Justice vs Simian’s “We Are Your Friends”, so this was clearly no accident.
