The Bad News Bears might be the only movie on HBO Family that features the n-word and the racially epithetical s-bomb, but when we recently rewatched the Walter Matthau classic we feel in love all over again for the first time.

Afterwards as we got mad IMDBish to find out more on director Michael Ritchie (Fletch! Wildcats! The Golden Child! Diggstown! It's like he invented Sunday afternoons on the Superstation!), we learned that this summer will bring a remake of the film. Seeing that it boasts direction by Richard Linklater, the writers behind Bad Santa, and Billy Bob Thornton perfectly cast in the Buttermaker role, we were stoked. Then we watched the trailer...bad news is right. Let's hope we're just like everyone else and have prematurely counted out those lovable, malicious, beer drinking, potty-mouthed little rejects.
