All these kooky indie-rocker Best Of lists popping up as of late made us think of Keanu Reeves. What doesn't? Guy is everywhere. He's always at shows standing in the back by himself, which makes us sad, even though they're usually good shows. Then again, Keanu's filmography is an epic tale of lone dude-ery, so maybe that's how he likes it. Except there's always that one character whom Keanu lets in, and sometimes, at like, Sonic Youth shows, we wish that someone was us. Anyway, Richard Linklater's A Scanner Darkly is out on DVD this week, and Keanu gives one of his best performances in it, albeit behind the curtain of animated movie make-up. It also features the triumphant return of Slater and gave us an excuse to browse Light Saber forums for tips on rotoscoping, so it's basically our favorite movie ever this week.
