Not to get all emocore, but yeah okay, to get all emocore, we have to say we felt a serious tugging of ye olde heartstrings last night at the Bowery hitching post watching our Canadian superfriends Born Ruffians open up for Swedish homebrothers-in-arms Peter Bjorn & John (pictured above). Ruffians win the prize for Endearingly Gawky Band With Jams (PS- Can we get a bottle of their spring water or what? Lead singer Luke Lalonde seriously looks like he’s getting younger by the day. In twenty years will it be weird to watch a baby perform “Hedonistic Me?” Nevermind.) PB&J replicated the same cutesy we’re-fucking-up-the-song-“Amsterdam”-oops! schtick from their show at the Merc on Monday, but we bought it, kit and caboodle, because by the time they brought out Victoria Bergsman from the Concretes for “Young Folks,” the air was filled with tiny little hearts and everyone was kissing. Gen F love in!
