In the video for "Matlock," black-and-white riot footage is projected onto a deadpan Vince Staples and producer Michael Uzowuru, who embodies the cool, shadowy presence his beat provides. Staples raps about riding all around your city with the safe off with the laid back demeanor of someone going to the corner store to pick up a gallon of milk, an attitude made even more unsettling by all the steely gazes at cameras throughout the clip. Though the duo have already collaborated several times, "Matlock" is their first official video, pointing to further work together. They've promised to unveil solo and instrumental albums this summer.
