Hypnotize Yourself To Jenny Hval And Susanna’s New Video

After a couple collaborative live performances in 2009, folky Norwegian songwriters Jenny Hval and Susanna established a creative partnership that resulted in a full-length album, Meshes of Voice. This simple video, which actually features two songs from that release, was made by Scandinavian artist Guri Dahl and nicely suits the pair's sparse arrangements and complimentary lilting vocalizations. The singers think so, too. "It very much reflects the state of mind and heart where Meshes of Voice comes from," they write in an email. "We collaborated with Guri for the visuals at the two concerts we did in 2009. 'O Sun O Medusa' and 'A Mirror In My Mouth' are two different songs, but they kind of mirror each other, like several songs in the Meshes cycle.” Meshes of Voice is out now on SusannaSonata.
