Folk Singer Amy Bezunartea Debuts Sad, Hopeful “Something To Show You”

The underrated singer-songwriter shares another stripped-down ballad.

Although under-the-radar folk singer Amy Bezunartea will sometimes utter amazingly jarring lines like They all want the pussy, but they don’t like the smell, she can also write achingly pretty ballads that are entirely Safe For Work. I just want to call you and tell you something good, just for once in my life, she sings on "Something To Show You," her girl-next-door vocals echoing a bleakly optimistic "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" sentiment. "This song is pretty straightforward," Bezunartea told FADER over email. "It’s about feeling desperate and frustrated and feeling like you’re a disappointment to others. And how that disappointment starts to change the way you see things and becomes part of you.” Her latest full-length, New Villain, is out September 25th via Kiam records.
