Less than a week after the shooting incident at Irving Plaza, Joey Bada$$ claimed on Twitter that the NYPD cancelled his show at the same venue. According to XXL, who screenshotted the tweet, Bada$$ wrote on Twitter, "So NYPD cancelled my show at Irving Plaza tmrw...FYI."

He deleted that tweet shortly after posting and then followed it up with a clarification:

Police Officer Sophia Mason emailed The FADER and said "the organization’s decision to cancel the event was in no way influenced by the NYPD."

The event is still listed on Live Nation's website and is billed as "Governors Ball & MTV present Joey Bada$$."

Reps for Joey Bada$$, Gov Ball, and Irving Plaza did not immediately return a request for comment.

This post has been updated with comment from the NYPD.
