Linda Sarsour is one of the five organizers behind the Women's March on Washington, a global movement of rallies and marches in protest of President Donald Trump's agenda. Members of the right-wing press and neo-Nazi sympathizers on Twitter, apparently eager to undermine the March's massive success (especially in comparison to Trump's poor inauguration numbers) have seized on old, unverified Tweets and slander to cast the Palestinian-American Sarsour as a terrorist sympathizer with ties to Hamas.
Naturally, demonizing one of the leaders of a highly successful movement in the digital world it emerged from is going to encounter some pushback. Below is a sampling of the many thousands of tweets sent out in support of Sarsour against the trolls.
